The Manhattan 179324 keyboard is a great value for the price – it’s got a full numpad and 61 keys, so you can do plenty of work on it. It also has backlighting, so you can see what you’re doing in low light conditions without having to use an external light source.

The customer reviews on Amazon are positive overall, but there were a few gripes raised as well: “…my only complaint would be that there are no dedicated numeric keypad numbers 1 through 9; every other number is used for modifier keys (control+option+, control+shift+) instead … this makes using common numerals like 3 or 6 particularly cumbersome when trying to type quickly in documents with multiple sources open simultaneously” and another review which reads, “This board was exactly what I needed … except one thing: There’s no num pad! This caused me some major problems because all my software expects numerical input from buttons 1-9 rather than relying on shift + Esc [to get] into text editing mode which is super inconvenient when switching between multiple applications with different key bindings set up already (vs., just hitting enter everywhere).” But again, these are relatively minor quibbles given everything else this keyboard has going for it.
